Santa Ana Gets Top Ten Finish at Conference Preview
SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's cross country team finished in first place with a combined team time of 1:48:00.80 (44 points) at the 2007 Orange Empire Conference Cross Country Preview held at Craig Park in Fullerton.
The Dons placed four runners within the top-ten finishers on the four-mile course, led by sophomore Jersain Torres (Katella H.S.) who finished in second place overall with a time of 20:37.10. Freshman Edgar Aguilar (Santa Ana H.S.) finished in fifth place with a time of 21:30.50, followed by sophomores Corey Brown (Loara H.S.) in seventh place (21:34.90) and Billy Mitchell (Tustin H.S.) in 10 th place (21:42.10).
Other finishers for SAC included sophomore Sam Juliano (Tustin H.S.) in 21 st place (22:36.20), sophomore Rino Ponce (Santiago H.S.) in 29 th place (23:28.20), freshman Joe Perez (Valencia H.S.) in 30 th place (23:28.50), freshman Luis Orozco (Santa Ana H.S.) in 35 th place (24:06.40) and freshman Martin Tellez (Tustin H.S.) in 40 th place (24:52.80).
Riverside College (53 points) finished in second place with a combined team time of 1:49:01.90, followed by Orange Coast College (55, 1:48:56.30), Saddleback College (91, 1:53:23.60), Fullerton College (149, 2:01:44.30), Santiago Canyon College (164, 2:06:52.70) and Golden West College (203, 2:17:00.70).
