
Joe Billish
Head Coach, 3rd year
Joe Billish returns for his third season as the head coach of the men's water polo program at Santa Ana College.
Billish graduated from Brother Rice High School in Chicago in 1988 where he won an Illinois water polo state championship. He later received his Bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania in 1993 and was a member of the 1991 men's water polo team that won the Eastern Conference championship and finished 7 the at the NCAA Championships. He is currently pursuing his Associates degree in fire technology at Santa Ana College and has been a firefighter in the City of Long Beach since 1998.
Billish has also been a coach for the Golden West Water Polo Club in Huntington Beach since 1998 where he teaches game skills, strategy and tactics. He spent one season as an assistant coach with the Santa Ana College women's water polo and swimming teams under Head Coach John Wright.
Previously, he was an assistant coach at Golden West College from 1998-2002 and at Long Beach City College from 1996-1997. Before coaching at the community college level, Billish was an assistant head coach for the freshman boys and girls water polo teams at Marina High School. |
