SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's water polo team lost to visiting Fullerton College 22-15 in an Orange Empire Conference match. The loss drops the Dons to 2-20 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
The Dons fell behind 7-4 in the first quarter but were able to hold Fullerton to only three goals in the second quarter. The Dons added two goals of their own to cut the Hornets lead to 10-6 at the half.
The Dons outscored the Hornets in the third quarter 5-4, cutting Fullerton's lead to 14-11 heading into the final frame. The Hornets proved to be too much as they outscored the Dons 8-4 to hold on for the 22-15 win.
Daniel Nagy led the Dons with five goals as Cody Kemp, Kyle Jacqmin and Timmy Frank each added two goals apiece. Alejandro Romero, Anthony Lopez, Eli Martinez and Jon Valdivia all added a goal to round out the Dons scorers. Erick Lopez made seven saves in goal while allowing the 22 goals. |
