Torres Finishes Second at the State Championships
CERRITOS, CA - Three members of the Santa Ana College (SAC) men's track and field team competed in the 2008 California Community College Track and Field State Championships at Cerritos College. The Dons finished in a tie for 22nd place out of 39 teams with 10 points.
Sophomore Jersain Torres (Katella HS) led SAC as he took second in the 5,000 meter event with a time of 15:19.94 (8 points). Freshman Ryan Gleason (Los Amigos HS) finished seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 159'7" (2 points), while sophomore Alfonso Leon (Santa Ana HS) finished 10 th in the men's 3,000 meters steeplechase with a time of 10:08.36.
Riverside Community College won the men's championship with a total team score of 112, followed by Sacramento City College with 67 points. |
