Dons Battle Conference Rival Orange Coast at Home


SANTA ANA, CA
- The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's track & field team dropped an Orange Empire Conference meet to rival Orange Coast College by a 94-59 margin despite many outstanding performances Friday afternoon at the SAC Track.

Matt Carter led the Dons with three first place finishes. He took the high jump event with a leap of 7'0”, followed by a winning long jump mark of 23'10.5”. Carter was also a leg on the 4x100 meter relay team that crossed the finish line in a time of 42.60 seconds. He currently leads the state with his marks in the high jump and long jump.

Freshman Ryan Gleason (Los Amigos HS) had first place finishes in the hammer throw (146'0”) and shot put (45'6.5”) and took second in the discuss (137'7”). Gleason is ranked in the top-10 in the state in all three events.

The Dons finished the 800 and 1500 meter races in first and second place and took first and third in the 3000 meter. Jersain Torres led the way in the distant events as he placed first in the 800 (1:58.25) and 1500 (4:13.67).
