Santa Ana Closes OEC Season Strong


SANTA ANA, CA
- Santa Ana College (SAC) ended its 2006 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) season at the OEC Championships with a handful of Dons becoming conference champions.

Nick Falcioni finished his season undefeated becoming the OEC champion in both the 110 hurdles (15.54) and the 400H (54.17). Falcioni was joined by teammates Sam Morton who came in first place in the 400M (49.46) and Erick Bustos who won hammer throw (141'6").

Cody Holton (1500M, 2nd-4:10); Gabe Monjaras (5000M, 2nd-15:38 and 10,000M, 3rd-33:33); Jonathon Coontz (hammer 2nd, shot put 3rd and discus 5th); and Bryan Garcia (triple jump, 4th) all put in strong performances for SAC.

Other strong SAC performances came from Averi Weldon (110H, 6th); Jaziel Castelazo (800M, 5th); and Luis Borreal (3000M steeple chase). Each of these athletes will represent SAC at the Southern California Prelims on Saturday, May 6.
