Dons Pick Up First Win of the Season over Cypress
CYPRESS, CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's swimming team defeated Cypress College 91-79 in an Orange Empire Conference swim meet held at Cypress College.
The Dons were led by Paden Mitchell (Santa Ana HS) who won both the 1000 freestyle (11:08.85) and the 500 freestyle (5:23.60) and Peter Valdez (Century HS) who won the 200 freestyle (2:07.10) and the 200 breast stroke (2:28.44).
Other winners included David Ta (Temple City HS) in the 200 fly (2:26.22), Mario Ruiz (Mater Dei HS) in the 100 freestyle (54.91) and Dalton Best (Villa Park HS) in the 200 back stroke (2:32.93).
Overall, SAC won eight of the 12 events on its way to the 91-79 victory. The victory improves the Dons to 1-3 on the season. |
