SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's soccer team defeated visiting College of the Canyons (COC) 2-0 on two goals from Richard Rivera (University HS). The victory improves the Dons to 3-3-1 on the season while COC falls to 1-5.
The teams played to an even 0-0 tie at half time as they combined for five shots on goal, four by SAC. The scoreless tie was finally broken just three minutes into the second half when Rivera took a pass from Robert Lopez (Fullerton Union HS) and buried it into the back of the net.
His second goal came just four minutes later when Ramses Munoz (Tustin HS) sent a cross in front of the goal. Rivera got his head on it and snuck it past the keeper to put the Dons up 2-0.
Ivan Rodriguez (Centennial HS) picked up the shutout victory as he made six saves during the game.
