SANTA ANA, CA - Adrian Negrete scored a pair of first half goals and Adrian Garcia shut out the Pirates as the Santa Ana College men's soccer team handed Orange Coast College its first loss in conference play by a score of 2-0.
Negrete's first goal came on a well-placed free kick that found the far corner from just outside of the box in the 17th minute. Negrete netted his second goal of the game when Daniel Ruiz set him up in front of the goal on a quick touch pass.
Garcia stood strong in goal for the Dons as he turned away all six shots he faced in 90 minutes. The shutout was Garcia's first of the season. His counterpart, Brian Rippetto, made five saves while allowing both goals.
