Dons Lose Tough Game 4-3 to Taft at Home

SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's soccer team lost to visiting Taft College 4-3 in a non-conference match. The loss drops the Dons to 1-2-2 while Taft improved to 4-2-1.

Richard Rivera put the Dons ahead 1-0 early when he took a pass from Daniel Ruiz and scored from the middle of the box. Taft came back to tie the game in the 25th minute on a goal by Chris Sandoval.

Following a red card against the Dons, Taft had a long free kick that was uncontrolled by either team in the box. Ivan Dominguez was the first to the ball and scored, giving Taft the 2-1 lead going into the half.

The Dons quickly tied the game at 2-2 in the opening minutes of the second half when Daniel Ruiz' free kick found Marco Ramirez alone in front of the goal for an easy score.

Ramirez gave the Dons their first lead since the first half when Kevin Gutierrez carried the ball down to the goal and found Ramirez for the goal putting the Dons up 3-2.

Sandoval's second goal of the game for Taft came in the 79th minute to tie the game and Noel Lopez scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute. Adrian Garcia gave up all four goals while making five saves in the loss.
