SANTA ANA, CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's soccer team battled back to tie Irvine Valley College (IVC) 3-3 in an Orange Empire Conference match. The tie comes one day after the Dons clinched their 14th straight OEC title with a 1-0 win at Riverside on Monday.
SAC trailed 1-0 at halftime after IVC scored in stoppage time during the first half. Juan Carlos Agripino tied the game at 1-1 four minutes into the second half on a pass from Miguel Cucue (Santa Ana HS).
IVC took the lead at 2-1 in the 61st minute and later extended its lead to 3-1 in the 69th minute. Ramon Quintana (Valencia HS) cut the Lasers lead to 3-2 when he sent a header into the back of the net off of a corner kick by Luis Uribe (Alfonso Ugarte HS, Peru). Uribe set up the game tying goal in the 80th minute when he sent a pass through the defense and connected with Jean Bello (Santa Ana HS) who found the back of the net.
