Santa Ana Loses at Home to Riverside 1-0

SANTA ANA, CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's soccer team lost its first conference game of the season 1-0 to visiting Riverside College (RCC) in an Orange Empire Conference match.

RCC scored its only goal in the 36th minute on goalkeeper Julian Hernandez (Bolsa Grande HS) Hernandez made five saves on six shots while playing in the first half. Enrique Romero (Los Amigos HS) made one save in the second half to keep the Dons close.

However, SAC was unable to score despite eight shots on goal. They're best scoring opportunity was a long shot that hit the right post. The loss drops the Dons to 6-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in conference. RCC improves to 4-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play with the win. The fourth loss matches the Dons season total from last season.
