Santa Ana Avenges Early Season Loss to Taft 2-0

SANTA ANA , CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's soccer team defeated Taft College 2-0 in a non-conference match at Santa Ana College Thursday. Juan Carlos Agripino scored both goals for the Dons in the victory. The win improves the Dons overall record to 4-3-1 with one game remaining before the start of Orange Empire Conference play. Taft falls to 6-3-2 with the loss.

Agripino's first goal came in the 59th minute off an assist from Ramon Quintana (Valencia HS). Quintana sent a long pass from the corner and Agripino sent a header passed the Taft goalkeeper.

Jean Bello (Santa Ana HS) picked up the assist on Agripino's second goal in the 70 th minute when his pass ahead allowed Agripino to break passed the defenders and send a shot on goal. The goalkeeper made the initial save but was unable to control the ball as it went through his hands and into the goal.

Julian Hernandez (Bolsa Grande HS) played 89 minutes in goal for SAC without allowing a goal. He made three saves before Manuel Tejeda (Saddleback HS) relieved him in the final minute. Tejeda did not face a shot.
