SANTA ANA , CA – The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's soccer team defeated Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) 3-1 in a non-conference soccer match. The victory improves the Dons to 3-2-1 and drops SBCC to 3-3 on the season.
SAC scored first when Ramon Quintana (Valencia HS) was fouled inside the box and scored on a penalty kick to put the Dons up 1-0 in the 17th minute. SAC went up by a score of 2-0 in the 25th minute when Alex Moreno (Saddleback HS) broke away from the Vaquero's defense and scored on a pass from Juan Carlos Agripino.
SBCC cut the lead to 2-1 in the 42nd minute before Agripino was able to get in behind the defense and beat the goalkeeper to extend the Dons' lead to 3-1 in the 74th minute.
Edmundo Ramirez (Valley HS) played most of the game for SAC at goalkeeper, making two saves and allowing one goal. Enrique Romero (Los Amigos HS) played the final two minutes for the Dons without facing a single shot. SAC out shot SBCC 12-3 in the game with 10 shots on goal.
