SANTA ANA , CA – Santa Ana College 's (SAC) men's soccer team defeated College of the Deserts 7-1 in the Dons' home opener to improve to 2-1 on the season. Deserts fell to 0-2 with the loss.
SAC scored its first goal in the 26 th minute when Miguel Cucue (Santa Ana HS) sent a header past the keeper off the assist by Rafael Garza (Anaheim HS). Jean Bello (Santa Ana HS) scored the Dons second goal when he took a short pass from Juan Carlos Agripino and chipped it in to put SAC up 2-0 in the 37 th minute.
Deserts cut the lead to 2-1 less then two minutes in the first half. It was their first shot of the game and the only shot on goal for the entire game.
The Dons answered ten minutes later when Agripino took a shot off a centering pass from Alex Moreno (Saddleback HS) and found the back of the net to extend the lead to 3-1. Moreno later scored for the Dons in the 68 th minute when he scored on a header from a corner kick by Eduardo Velazquez (Santa Ana HS).
After Robert Lopez (Fullerton Union HS) scored in the 77 th minute to put the Dons up 5-1, Ramon Quintana (Valencia HS) and Edmundo Ramirez (Valley HS) scored the final two goals for the Dons.
Julian Hernandez (Bolsa Grande HS) played the entire first half at goal keeper for the Dons without seeing a single shot. Enrique Romero (Los Amigos HS) played 25 minutes for the Dons while allowing the only goal of the game and Manuel Tejeda (Saddleback HS) finished the game for SAC, playing 20 minutes.
