Santa Ana Wins Easily in Final Preseason Game

SANTA ANA , CA – Santa Ana College's (SAC) men's soccer team defeated San Bernardino Valley (SBV) 7-0 in the Dons' final preseason game.

The Dons' hot offense continued from their last game as they were able to put up three goals in the first half. Kevin Gutierrez (Tustin HS) scored two goals within two minutes for SAC to put the Dons up 2-0.

Marco Cruz (Valley HS) added a third goal in the 45th minute when he took a pass from Luis Uribe at the top of the box and fired the ball past SBV's keeper. The Dons outshot SBV in the first half 18-2, with ten of the shots finding their way to the goal.

SAC continued to generate a number of opportunities in the second half but weren't able to find the back of the net until late in the second half when Uribe sent a pass towards Ignacio Cruz who sent a header into the back of the goal in the 75th minute.

Juan Gutierrez (Saddleback HS) scored the next two goals for the Dons within three minutes of each other. Mario Muratalla (Santa Ana HS) scored the final goal of the game in the final minute giving SAC a 7-0 victory and improving their overall record to 5-2-2.

Enrique Romero (Los Amigos HS) played the entire game for the Dons in goal and only had to make one save in the first half to get the shutout victory.
