Dick Gorrie enters his 25th season
as head coach of the Santa Ana College men’s golf
team. During his tenure, Gorrie’s Dons have finished
in the top half of the conference all but twice. He has
twice been named Orange Empire Conference Coach-of-the-Year.
During his 24-year tenure as head coach, eight different players have attended
the San Diego Golf Academy or Professional Career College, with others
receiving scholarships from schools such as San Diego State, San Jose State,
USC, James Madison University and Cal State Northridge.
Gorrie is also a member of the Santa Ana football coaching staff where
he serves as Dons' running back coach. He was the head football coach at
Santa Ana from 1964-75 and ranks third in school history with 52 career
wins.
