Dons Defeat Cuyamaca on Sixth Card in Bad Weather
EL CAJON, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's golf team defeated host Cuyamaca College on the sixth card as both team's shot a 386. Derek Jones of SAC shot an 84 to edge out Cuyamaca's Taka Omoto who shot an 87.
Mike Gutierrez and Mike Reed led the Dons as they each shot a round of 76. Shane Rozenboom and Ryan Sawyer shot 77 and Emerson Wood rounded out the top-five scores with a round of 80.
Cuyamaca split the match as they defeated Saddleback College 386-397 but suffered the loss to the Dons. Ryan Ellerbrock of Cuyamaca led all golfers with a round of 74. The match was played in less than ideal conditions as the golfers battled strong winds and cold temperatures.
