Dons' Rally Comes Up Short; Fall From Playoffs
RIVERSIDE, CA - Santa Ana College cut a 19-point lead to two points, but Riverside College held on for a 68-60 victory over the Dons in a Southern California Regional Play-in Game, Wednesday.

It was the third time that Riverside and Santa Ana had clashed this season, each resulting in a Tiger win.
Sixteenth-seeded Riverside (14-14) advances to a first round game Saturday against top-seeded San Bernardino Valley.
Riverside dominated the game in the first half. The Tigers opened with a 10-2 run and eventually built 27-8 lead with 8:33 remaining in the half. Freshman Trayvon Williams led Riverside's offensive splurge with 12 first-half points, nine coming on three pointers. Riverside hit six three pointers in the opening 20 minutes.
Santa Ana managed to cut the lead to 37-24 at halftime.
The two teams spent a majority of the second half exchanging baskets before Santa Ana made its run. The Dons cut the lead to two at 51-49 with 5:41 remaining on a Terrence Hundley dunk, but would get no closer as Riverside used a 17-11 run to close out the game.
Riverside's Williams led all scorers with 22 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the floor and 4 of 5 from the free throw line. He also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
Santa Ana had three players - Hundley, Darrell Jenkins and Jesus Miranda - score 12 points each. The Dons conclude the season 12-14, while Riverside improved to 14-14.
