Last Place Cypress Stuns Santa Ana, 58-47
SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana College's home of making the playoffs for the first time in four season grew dimmer, Wednesday, with its 58-47 loss to last-place Cypress College. The Chargers (10-16, 3-10) snapped a two-game losing streak and stunned the Dons on their homecourt. The loss drops Santa Ana to 11-13 overall and 7-6 in the Orange Empire Conference.

Cypress, who was playing without its top offensive threat in Eric Taylor, was led by Brandon Void finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Houstan Downey added 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Sam Davis added nine points.
Robert Reynaga led the Dons with 13 points connecting on 4-of-9 from the field including 1-of-3 from beyond the three-point arc. Jesus Miranda came off the bench to add eight points and grab a team-high seven rebounds from his guard position. Miranda was 3-of-6 from field and 2-of-5 from three-point range in the loss.
Cypress held Santa Ana to just 26 percent shooting (13-of-32) in the first half to take a 30-16 lead into halftime. The Dons cut the Chargers lead to six on two occasions in the second half but could get to closer.
