Roadrunners Overcome Deficit; Eliminate Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA - Andre Walters and Nedim Pajevic each scored 16 points but it wasn't enough as Santa Ana College fell to Rio Hondo College, 75-68, in the consolation round of the Santa Ana Holiday Classic, Tuesday.

The Dons' cold second-half shooting allowed the Roadrunners to overcome a five-point halftime deficit, 40-35, and advance to Wednesday's fifth-place game against Saddleback College at 3 p.m.
Pajevic was near perfect connecting on 5-of-7 field goals and all six of his free throws to lead Santa Ana. Walters, who also scored 16, finished 4-of-10 from the field including 3-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc. He was also 5-of-6 at the charity stripe. Justin Williams added 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Santa Ana.
Rio Hondo had five players score in double figures led by Anthony Kimble who finished with 15. Kimble, who also had eight rebounds, was 7-of-14 from the field and just 1-of-7 from the free throw line. Jino La Bomme added 13 followed by Jabir Jino, 12; Tony Langston, 11; and Airrion Moses, 10.
The Roadrunners shot 51 percent in the second half to outscore the Dons, 40-28.
Next: Santa Ana will open the Orange Empire Conference portion of its schedule on Wednesday, January 5 when the Dons travel to Riverside Community College to face the Tigers in a game set for 5:30 p.m.
