Dons Fall 76-64 to Visiting Saddleback College

SANTA ANA, CA -
The Santa Ana College (SAC) men's basketball team lost 76-64 to visiting Saddleback College in an Orange Empire Conference game. The loss drops the Dons 9-10 overall and 1-4 in conference while the Gauchos improve to 19-2 and 4-0 in conference play.

Neither team established a lead larger than four points over the first nine minutes of the half until Saddleback outscored the Dons 10-2 over a span of just 1:33 to take a 21-12 lead.

The Dons answered with a run of their own as they outscored the Gauchos 12-3 over the next four minutes to tie the game at 24-24 with 5:48 left in the half. Saddleback closed out the half on a 19-3 run to take a 43-26 lead into halftime.

The Gauchos continued to control the action through the second half as they didn't allow the Dons to get within 12 points. Saddleback went on to win the game by a score of 76-64.

Thurman Woods led all scorers with 26 points while Nehemiah Jones and Isiah Emaguna were the only other Dons in double digits with 11 points apiece. Saddleback was led by Robert Curtis with 15 points followed by Johnel Gray and Perry Webster with 14 apiece.
