Santa Ana Qualifies for State Playoffs

SANTA ANA, CA - With its first winning season in six years the Santa Ana College (SAC) men's basketball team qualified for the state playoffs as the 17th seed. The Dons will face number 16 Cuyamaca at Cuyamaca on Wednesday.

This will be the third time this season that the Dons will play Cuyamaca with the teams splitting the first two games. SAC opened its season with a 77-75 win over Cuyamaca in the Cuyamaca Tournament. The two teams met a month later, this time with Cuyamaca picking up the win at 84-78.

The Dons 23-8 record this year is a complete turn around from last season when the team finished 9-22. SAC finished tied for third place with Orange Coast College in the Orange Empire Conference with a 7-5 record. Last season, the Dons finished 0-12 in the OEC.
