Santa Ana Gets Upset at Home by Orange Coast

SANTA ANA, CA - Two days after one of the biggest wins of the season, Santa Ana College (SAC) was upset by visiting Orange Coast College (OCC) 80-74 in an Orange Empire Conference men's basketball game.

The two teams traded the lead throughout the first half with neither team being able to take control of the game. At half time the score was deadlocked at 37-37 leaving the final to be decided in the second half.

The second half went the way of the first with the teams trading the lead back and forth. The Dons held a two point lead with five minutes remaining until OCC hit a three point shot one minute later to take the lead at 66-65. OCC wouldn't give up the lead from that point on as they defeated SAC 80-74.

Both teams shot 36% from the field but OCC shot 42% from three point range while the Dons only shot 30%

James Silvie (Mayfair HS) led the Dons in scoring with 14 points while Tyre Thomspon (Centennial HS) added another 13 points.
