Santa Ana Uses Big Second Half to Defeat Cypress

SANTA ANA, CA -
Santa Ana College (SAC) utilized a 62-point second half to pull away from visiting Cypress College and win its second straight game. The victory improved the Dons' record to 19-5 overall and 3-2 in Orange Empire Conference play.

After a tight first half that ended with SAC ahead 39-32, the Dons quickly extended their lead to 52-36 in the first three minutes of the second half. By the half-way point of the second half, the Dons were up 73-49 and in full control of the game before going on to defeat the Chargers 101-72.

Tyre Thompson (Centennial HS) led all scorers with 29 points and James Silvie (Mayfair HS) added another 13 points in the Dons' victory. Every player for SAC scored at least two points in the game.
