Dons' Williams Signs With Sacramento State
SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana College forward Justin Williams (Centennial H.S., Corona, CA) signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) and head coach Jerome Jenkins next season. The 6-6 freshman helped lead Santa Ana to a 12 -14 overall record and a third-place finish in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) with an 8-6 mark. The Dons made their first post-season appearance in four years but lost in the first round of the Southern California Regional Men's Basketball Playoffs, 68-60, to conference-foe Riverside Community College.

Williams joins point guard Kris Groce (University of Hawai'i), and shooting guards Loren Leath (Los Angeles Valley Junior College) and Clark Woods (Lansing Community College) to complete CSUS's 2005-06 recruiting class.
Williams was one of four players to appear in all 26 games last season for Santa Ana while averaging 6.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and a team-high 0.9 blocked shots per game. In league play, Williams improved those numbers to 7.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
While at Santa Ana College, Williams led the team in scoring three times, rebounding six times and steals eight times. He shot 44.6 percent (66-148) from the field, and 32 of his 105 rebounds came on the offensive glass.
Williams prepped at Centennial High School where he was a first team all-league selection during both his junior and senior seasons. During his senior year, he averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds per game while earning county player of the year honorable mention honors. Williams, who also averaged 12 points and 12 rebounds as a junior, was a scholar-athlete and member of the honor roll all four years of high school.
The former Don is the fourth Santa Ana College player to earn a scholarship following the 2004-05 season. Sophomores Nedim Pajevic (6-9, Forward, Weber State University) and Robert Reynaga (5-9, Guard, California State University, Los Angeles) and freshman Danny Cavic (6-6, Forward, University of San Francisco) also received scholarships to play basketball next season.
CSUS, who is coming off a 2004-05 season in which it finished 12-16 overall and a program-best 8-6 in league play, is a NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Sky Conference which includes Eastern Washington University, Idaho State University, University of Montana, Montana State University-Bozeman, Northern Arizona University, Portland State University and Weber State University.
