Santa Ana Falls To Orange Coast, 74-59
SANTA ANA, CA - Lance Ortiz scored 14 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out nine assists as visiting Orange Coast College downed Santa Ana College, 74-59, in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) men's basketball action, Friday. Ortiz was one of three Pirates (22-8, 9-1) to score in double figures along with Reggie Brown and Matt Davis who scored 15 and 14, respectively.
Brandt Bangs had a game-high 20 for the Dons(9-20, 0-10) on 6 of 12 shooting from the field including 4 of 9 from three-point range. Terrence Hundley added 13 while Sean Luecke finished with 7 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.
It was the Dons 10th straight loss in conference play and 11th overall.
Santa Ana shot 35.6 percent from the field (21 of 59) and just 47.1 percent at the free throw line (11 of 23) while Orange Coast connected on 25 of 58 from the field (43.1 percent) and 15 of 20 at the free throw line (75 percent).
The Pirates also outrebounded the Dons, 43-39 in the win.
