Santa Ana's Rabb To Sign With Washington State

SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana College sophomore wide receiver Finas Rabb (El Modena HS) gave a verbal commitment to player football for Washington State University and head coach Bill Doba while on a recruiting trip to Pullman, Washington over the weekend.

The 6- foot-6, 205-pound receiver, who has only played two years of organized football both at Santa Ana, caught 29 passes for 451 yards and six touchdowns this past season. Prior to playing football, Rabb played one year on the Dons' basketball team where he started in 13 of 26 games scoring 100 points (3.8 avg.) and grabbing 126 rebounds (4.8 avg.).

The former El Modena High School-product, who sports a 37-inch vertical and runs the 40 in 4.55, will officially become a Cougar on December 21 (Wednesday) when he signs his name to a national letter of intent with the university.

According to Scout.com recruiting editor Barry Bolton, “Rabb said the chance to play in the Pac-10 coupled with the family environment that he witnessed in Pullman over the weekend made his choice an easy one.”

“Finas is a great student-athlete and is only beginning to scratch the surface of his athletic potential,” said Dons' head coach Geoff Jones. “It's been a rewarding experience watching him develop into a second team all-conference receiver after never playing football in high school. Washington State will be a good fit for him.”

Rabb also had offers from Tulsa, Nevada and Utah but has since turned them down.

Three other Dons from this year's team will also be signing letter of intent to play football next year in defensive back Nate Dedic (Northern Arizona University), running back Kaleo Igarta (The University of Montana - Western), defensive end Sam Stewart (University of Nevada, Reno). A.J. Slater, an offensive lineman from 2004, will be joining Stewart at the University of Nevada, Reno.
