The Hornets tied the game in the fifth inning at 3-3 on a ball that rolled slowly along the foul line on the first base line. The Dons came back in the bottom half of the inning to take a 4-3 lead on a sacrifice fly by Hardman that scored Travis Leverson (Chaparral HS).
In the sixth inning, Fullerton tied the game at 4-4 on a ground-out to third base. The Hornets had three hits in the inning but were only able to score once.
The tie was broken in the bottom of the seventh inning when Nate Bridges (Villa Park HS) hit the first pitch of the inning for a solo home run to left field, giving the Dons a 5-4 lead. SAC scored once more in the eighth inning when Davis hit an infield single that allowed Eligio to score.
