Dons End Three-Game Set with Sacramento with Win
SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) baseball team defeated visiting Sacramento City College (SCC) 10-4 in the final game of a three-game series. The Dons won two out of the three games to improve to 10-5 overall while the Panthers fall to 6-7.
SAC trailed SCC 4-3 in the seventh inning when Casey Rihn (La Habra HS) hit a lead-off solo home run to tie the game at 4-4. James Davis (Garden Grove HS) followed with a double down the left side and later scored on a double by Crispin Tarango (Diamond Bar HS).
After Kyle Ammons (Huntington Beach HS) drew a walk, Jake Eccles (Temescal Canyon HS) hit a double scoring Ammons and Tarango, giving SAC a 7-4 lead.
The Dons added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning as Matt Allen (Orange HS) hit a lead-off double and later scored on a single by Davis. Davis scored in the next at-bat when Derek Eligio (Esperanza HS) hit a two-run home run to give SAC the 10-4 victory.
