Santa Ana Season-Opener Postponed
SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College baseball team will have to wait until Friday, February 4 to play its first game of the 2005 season. The Dons' home opener against Cerritos College scheduled for Tuesday, Febuary 1 at 2 p.m. has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 20 at 1 p.m. due to the funeral for Cerritos' pitcher Jeremy Lara which will be held on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old was fatally wounded in a drive-by-shooting on Sunday, January 23 in the city of Paramount.
Santa Ana will now open the 2005 season on the road when it travels to San Marcos to face Palomar College on Friday, February 4 at 2 p.m.
