Dons Blanked by Fullerton in 10-0 Loss at Home
SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) baseball team lost to visiting Fullerton College 10-0 in an Orange Empire Conference game. The loss marked the first time this season that the Dons have lost back-to-back games and the first time since April 29-May 1, 2008.
Fullerton (8-18-1, 4-8) opened the game with two runs in the first inning and added one run in each of the third, fourth and fifth inning to take a 5-0 lead over the Dons. The final five runs came on a late rally in the ninth inning against SAC's relief pitchers.
The Dons (19-8, 8-4) managed only six hits for the entire game, all off starting pitcher Matt Gustin who picked up the win after pitching seven and one third innings.
Nick Capito fell to 6-2 on the season as he allowed five runs, three earned, on eight hits in five innings with only two strikeouts.
