Jake Eccles Named CCCAA Athlete of the Month

SANTA ANA, CA - Jake Eccles' performance in the month of February earned him the title of California Community College Athletic Association Male Athlete of the Month.

Eccles batted .429 with 23 RBI on 21 hits and only six strikeouts in the month. He also hit eight home runs in the month, including three multi-home run games. Of his 21 hits, he has eight home runs and five doubles.

His best game of the month came in the Orange Empire Conference opener at Riverside College when he went 4-for-5 with seven RBI and three runs scored with two home runs.

On the season, Eccles is batting .394 (28-for-71) with 28 RBI and 10 home runs while starting in 19 of the Dons 20 games. His 10 home runs are just one away from last year's home run leader (James Davis, 11 home runs).
