Dons, Orange Empire, Dominate Pre-Season Poll

SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana College (SAC) baseball team has been selected as the Southern California pre-season favorite by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association.

The Dons kick their season off on January 27 when they host Los Angeles Pierce College. SAC will begin defending its back-to-back Orange Empire Conference Championships on February 26 at Riverside College.

The top-ranked Dons are followed by fellow Orange Empire Conference (OEC) contenders Cypress College at number two, Riverside College at number three and Orange Coast College at number four.

The only non-OEC team in the top-five is Palomar College. Cuesta College, Chaffey College, Santa Barbara College, Southwestern College and Cerritos College round out the top-10.

Saddleback College and Golden West College are also ranked in the top-15 list at 12 and 13 respectively. Fullerton College and Irvine Valley College were the only OEC teams to not crack the top-15.

Sacramento City College was selected as the Northern California pre-season favorite followed by Fresno City College and defending State Champion Sierra College.
