Kyle Mertins Named All-OEC Pitcher of the Year;
Don Sneddon Named OEC Coach of the Year

SANTA ANA, CA - For the second straight year the Santa Ana College baseball team has produced the All-Orange Empire Conference Pitcher of the Year and Coach of the Year. Five Dons were named First Team All-Orange Empire Conference (OEC) with another three named Second Team All-OEC.

Kyle Mertins (El Dorado HS), who finished the season with a 7-3 overall record in 15 starts and a 2.85 ERA, was named Pitcher of the Year. Mertins lowered his numbers in eight conference starts. He had a 6-2 record with a 2.53 ERA with two complete games.

Don Sneddon won his second straight Coach of the Year award as he led the Dons to the number one seed in the California Community College baseball playoffs for the second straight year. He also led the Dons to their second straight OEC Championship and fourth in the last five years.

Crispin Tarango (Diamond Bar HS), Derek Eligio (Esperanza HS), Kyle Hardman (Mission Viejo HS) and Brandon Pinder (Centennial HS) were all named First Team All-OEC and Matt Allen (Orange HS), Jake Eccles (Temescal Canyon HS) and James Davis (Garden Grove HS) were named Second Team All-OEC.
