Santa Ana Defeats Victor Valley 21-1 at Home
SANTA ANA, CA - For the second day in a row, the Santa Ana College (SAC) baseball team scored over 20 runs in its 21-1 victory over Victory Valley College (VVC) in the Casey Stengel Tournament.
The Dons offensive onslaught began in the bottom of the first inning when Kyle Hardman (Mission Viejo HS) drove a 3-1 pitch deep to left field for a grand slam home run. Travis Leverson (Chaparral HS) led the inning off with a single to centerfield followed by a walk by Matt Allen (Orange HS). Casey Rihn (La Habra HS) was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Hardman.
SAC scored six more runs in the second inning. Hardman picked up two more RBIs on a single to left field with Leverson, Derek Eligio (Esperanza HS) and Crispin Tarango (Diamond Bar HS) each getting one RBI in the inning.
Hardman doubled in the third scoring Allen for his seventh RBI of the game and Caleb Boyer (Temecula Valley HS) grounded out to short stop, scoring Rihn from third.
The Dons went on to score four runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the eighth to round out their scoring. Hardman led SAC going 3-for-4 with seven RBIs. Marcus Piazzisi (El Dorado HS), Jake Eccles (Temescal Canyon HS), Boyer and Allen each had two RBIs in the win.
