Santa Ana Eliminated by #15 LA Harbor College

SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana College (SAC) was eliminated by #15 Los Angeles Harbor College (LAH) 4-3 after defeating #10 Golden West College 4-3 earlier in the day.

The Dons scored early when Travis Leverson hit a triple to right field and later scored on an RBI groundout by Andy Navarrette. Casey Rihn led off the second inning with a solo home run putting the Dons up 2-0.

SAC scored its final run in the top of the third inning when Nick Tanos hit a single to left field and advanced to second on a fielder's choice by Mario Ramirez. Tanos scored in the next at-bat when Crispin Tarango hit a single down the left field line.

The Seahawks cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Ruben Noriega hit a two-out single followed by a single by Juan Dorado. Marcus Cogman hit a RBI single to right field and Dorado scored on a passed ball.

LAH scored the tying run and go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh when Alex Chavez led the inning off by being hit by a pitch and later advanced on a psased ball. Stephen Turner reached on a fielder's choice scoring Chavez. After Richard Arciniega flew out to left, Steve Carrillo walked settin up Nick Laico.

Laico hit a double to left-center field scoring Turner while Carrillo came around to score. Crispin Tarango attempted to throw Carrillo out who ran head first into catcher Ramirez and was called out for intereference. Carrillo was also ejected on the play.

The Dons had a final shot in the ninth inning with the bases loaded but were unable to score a run as they ended the game, and their season by grounding out into a double play.
