The Dons' Offense Comes up Big in Win Against Cerritos
SANTA ANA, CA -
Santa Ana College (SAC) took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back as they defeated Cerritos College 9-1 in a non-conference baseball game at Santa Ana College.
Nick Tanos (Cypress HS) hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning after Travis Leverson (Chaparral HS) reached on a passed ball. Tanos singled in Manny Caceres (Santa Ana HS) in his next at bat in the third inning.
The Dons scored again in the fourth inning when Brandon Hay (Huntington Beach HS) singled in Crispin Tarango (Diamond Bar HS) who reached on a single to left field.
Tarango came up to bat again in the fifth inning with the bases loaded when he hit a grand slam to extend the Dons' lead to 8-1. Daniel Voorheis (Cypress HS) forced in the final run in the eighth inning when he was walked with the bases loaded.
Yuichiro Fujiwara (Japan Aviation Academy) allowed only one run on six hits in six innings pitched to pick up his first win of the season.
