Eight New Members Inducted into SAC Hall of Fame
SANTA ANA, CA -The fifth class of the Santa Ana College (SAC) Athletic Hall of Fame was inducted today in the courtyard of the new Santa Ana College Exercise Science Locker Room Complex.
This year's class featured former SAC student-athletes Bob Delaney (cross country/track and field), Vic Lindskog (football), Greg Mathews (baseball), Atari Parker (women's basketball), Jose Vasquez (men's soccer) and Edgar Wickliffe (men's basketball), along with former coaches Frank Addleman (wrestling) and J.P. Frutos (men's soccer).
Ed Arnold was the Master of Ceremonies as former inductees, friends and family gathered to honor the eight inductees. Each member was introduced by a former teammate, coach or family member in the ceremony before addressing the audience personally.
The Santa Ana College Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2003 to celebrate, recognize and honor the accomplishments of individuals who have made significant contributions as a student-athlete, coach or friend to the rich tradition of the Santa Ana College athletic program. In order to be eligible for induction, all athletes must have last competed at least five years prior to induction and coaches must have not coached for at least two years.
The Hall of Fame is an affiliate organization of the Santa Ana College Foundation and is dedicated to preserving the college's athletic history while providing new opportunities to transferring student-athletes through scholarships. |
