Vic Lindskog
Football, Class of 2007
Vic Lindskog played football for Santa Ana College Hall of Fame coach Bill Cook before moving on to Stanford and becoming the first “t-formation” center. In 1941, Lindskog was a member of the Stanford football team that defeated Nebraska in the Rose Bowl.
Lindskog was a second-round draft pick in 1942 and played center and linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1944-51. During his career the Eagles won back-to-back NFL Championships in 1948-49. Those teams have been honored by the Eagles by being named to the Eagles Honor Roll. Lindskog finished his career with four interceptions for a total of 112 yards, including his longest interception return for 65 yards.
Following his playing career, Lindskog coached in the NFL for the Eagles before becoming a coach with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League. Lindskog also coached at Stanford before becoming an assistant coach for Bakersfield College team that won the Junior Rose Bowl . Lindskog coached for the Los Angeles Rams before becoming a scout for the Seattle Seahawks. He ended his career as a scout for the San Francisco 49ers where he was awarded two Super Bowl rings. |
