Lust for Machines
Dean De Cocker and Matthew Furmanski

Through years of observation, nationally recognized artists Dean De Cocker and Matthew Furmanski have utilized machines to inspire their sculpture. Each uses attention to detail to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Annual Student Art Show

May 4 – 29
Opening Reception: Friday, May 1, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Fine Arts Building "C" – Lobby

Faculty juried student art from both Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College will be presented. Included will be paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, blown glass, computer graphics, jewelry, stained glass and photography. Live student award ceremony starts at 6:00 pm on May 1.

ACCESS Student Art Exhibition

March 12 – May 2
Opening Reception: Sat., March 7, 7:00 – 10:00 pm

Santa Ana College presents a juried exhibition of student artwork from the Orange County Department of Education’s ACCESS program for at-risk youth. The
exhibit opens with a gala reception featuring musical entertainment and poetry written by ACCESS students.

High School Invitational

A summer tradition! Santa Ana College hosts an
exhibition of artwork from local high schools. Meet the
talented young artists at the opening of this energetic,
annual crowd pleaser.

The Legacy Project
El Toro Marine Base Documentary

August 6 – September 5
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 1, 7:00-10:00 pm

"The Legacy Project", established by Jerry Burchfield, Mark Chamberlain, Jacques Garnier, Robert Johnson, Douglas McCulloh and Clayton Spada, has been dedicated to the long-term documentation of the conversion of the former Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, into the Great Park of Orange County. This project will be presented as a vibrant, interactive, multi-media installation.


Entertainment Arts & Animation Series
For students in animation, TV and computer programming:

February 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28 and April 4
Free lectures: 9:00 – 10:30 am Room A-210
Workshops follow at 11:00-12:30 and 1:15 – 3:15 pm

Workshops include demos and hands-on exercises. Workshop seating is limited; space must be reserved in advance by contacting Patricia Waterman at waterman_patricia@sac.edu or call 714-564-6741.

Speakers from Rhythm & Hues, Blur Studios, Focus 360, Blizzard and THQ Games include riggers, artists and modelers.
